Governance
Valley of Heroes uses a decentralized governance system where nsHONOR holders (players who have staked HONOR) have voting power to make decisions about the Community Treasury and project direction.
🗳️ How Governance Works
Voting Power
Your voting power is determined by:
- Amount of nsHONOR: More nsHONOR = more voting power
- Lock Duration: Longer lock periods grant higher voting power multipliers
- Proportional Weight: Your vote weight = (Your nsHONOR × Duration Multiplier) / Total Weighted nsHONOR
Governance Process
- Proposal Creation: Any nsHONOR holder can create a governance proposal
- Discussion Period: Community discusses the proposal
- Voting Period: nsHONOR holders vote on the proposal
- Execution: If approved, the proposal is executed automatically
💼 What Can Be Governed
Treasury Spending
All treasury spending proposals must be voted on by nsHONOR holders. Common proposals include:
1. Liquidity Provision
- Adding HONOR/MON liquidity pools
- Adjusting liquidity allocation percentages
- Managing LP token positions
2. HONOR Buyback Program
- Executing market buybacks
- Setting buyback schedules
- Redistributing bought HONOR (rewards, burns, etc.)
3. Reward Distribution
- Adjusting reward rates for stakers
- Changing reward distribution mechanisms
- Allocating rewards to specific initiatives
4. Token Burns
- Proposing HONOR burns to reduce supply
- Emergency burn mechanisms
- Burn schedules and amounts
5. Other Community Initiatives
- Funding community events
- Supporting partnerships
- Development grants
- Marketing initiatives
Protocol Parameters
Governance can also vote on protocol-level changes:
- Treasury allocation percentages
- Staking reward rates
- Lock duration multipliers
- Fee structures
🎯 Governance Principles
Decentralization
- No Central Control: No single entity can control treasury decisions
- Community-Driven: All major decisions require community approval
- Transparent: All proposals and votes are on-chain and verifiable
Long-Term Alignment
- Longer Locks = More Power: Rewards long-term committed players
- Skin in the Game: Only stakers can vote (must have locked HONOR)
- Sustainable Decisions: Voting power structure encourages thoughtful proposals
Fairness
- One nsHONOR = One Vote (weighted by duration)
- No Whale Domination: Proportional voting prevents single large holder control
- Equal Opportunity: Any nsHONOR holder can create proposals
📋 Proposal Types
Treasury Spending Proposals
Format:
- Title: Clear description of the proposal
- Amount: HONOR amount to be spent
- Recipient: Address receiving funds
- Purpose: Detailed explanation of how funds will be used
- Justification: Why this spending benefits the community
Example:
Title: Add 100,000 HONOR to HONOR/MON Liquidity Pool
Amount: 100,000 HONOR
Recipient: LP Pool Address
Purpose: Increase liquidity depth for HONOR trading
Justification: Higher liquidity reduces slippage and improves trading experience
Parameter Change Proposals
Format:
- Parameter: Which parameter to change
- Current Value: Current setting
- Proposed Value: New setting
- Impact Analysis: How this change affects the system
⚖️ Voting Mechanism
Voting Options
- For: Support the proposal
- Against: Oppose the proposal
- Abstain: No opinion (doesn't count toward quorum)
Quorum Requirements
- Minimum participation threshold must be met
- Prevents low-engagement proposals from passing
- Ensures decisions have community support
Voting Period
- Typically 3-7 days for discussion and voting
- Allows all time zones to participate
- Prevents last-minute manipulation
Execution
- Automatic Execution: Approved proposals execute automatically
- Timelock: Some proposals may have a timelock for security
- On-Chain: All execution is verifiable on-chain
🔒 Security & Safeguards
Proposal Requirements
- Minimum nsHONOR: Proposers must hold minimum nsHONOR to create proposals
- Deposit: Small deposit required (returned if proposal passes)
- Spam Prevention: Prevents low-quality proposals
Execution Safeguards
- Timelock: Critical proposals have delay before execution
- Multi-Sig: Large treasury operations may require multi-signature
- Emergency Pause: Protocol can be paused if security issues detected
Transparency
- On-Chain Voting: All votes are recorded on-chain
- Public Proposals: All proposals are publicly visible
- Verifiable Results: Vote counts and results are transparent
