Mystery Box

The Mystery Box is the primary way to obtain Heroes in Valley of Heroes. Each box contains a random hero that is revealed when you open it.

  • Price: TBD per box
  • Total Supply: 30,000 boxes (30,000 heroes maximum)
  • Blockchain: Monad
  • NFT Standard: ERC721 (MysteryBox contract)

🛒 How to Mint​

Single Mint​

  1. Navigate to the Mint Box page
  2. Click "Mint" button
  3. Enter quantity (1 box)
  4. Optional: Enter inviter address for referral registration
  5. Confirm transaction

Bulk Mint​

  • Mint 1-20 boxes per transaction
  • Price: TBD × quantity
  • All boxes are minted in one transaction (gas efficient)
  • Example: 10 boxes = TBD

Referral Registration​

  • Enter an inviter's wallet address when purchasing
  • Automatically registers you for referral benefits
  • Inviter earns rating multipliers when you mint boxes
  • Can only register once (first mint)

🎁 Revealing Your Hero​

Process​

  1. Mint Box: Box is minted as NFT to your wallet
  2. Open Box: Click "Reveal" on any owned box
  3. Random Generation: Hero attributes are generated on-chain using:
    • Box ID
    • Token ID
    • Block hash
    • Block timestamp
    • Block prevrandao
  4. Hero Minted: Box is burned, Hero NFT is minted
  5. View Hero: Hero appears in your collection

What's Inside​

Every box mints a completely random hero:

  • 15 hero archetypes (Alexis, BlazingWyvern, …, Zombas)
  • A rarity system that drives starting Attack and growth multipliers
  • Procedurally generated color palettes unique to each archetype

🎲 Randomness & Fairness​

On-Chain Randomness​

Hero attributes are generated using provably fair on-chain randomness:

  • Uses block.prevrandao (Monad's random beacon)
  • Combines with block hash, timestamp, and box/token IDs
  • Cannot be manipulated by miners or developers
  • Fully transparent and verifiable

Fair Distribution​

  • Each box has equal chance for each rarity tier
  • Hero type selection is uniform (1/15 chance each)
  • Attack values are uniformly distributed within rarity ranges
  • No pre-determined outcomes

💡 Strategy Tips​

  • Mint multiple boxes to increase your odds of landing high-rarity heroes.
  • Check rarity first before committing HONOR to upgrades.
  • Hero types mainly affect visuals; Attack is the key gameplay stat.
  • Keep referrals active to boost your HONOR multiplier (see Referral Overview).

⚠️ Important Notes​

  • One-Time Use: Each box can only be revealed once
  • Box is Burned: Box NFT is permanently destroyed when revealed
  • Hero is Permanent: Once minted, hero attributes cannot be changed
  • No Refunds: Box mints are final
  • Max Supply: Only 30,000 heroes will ever exist
