Skills (Coming Soon)

The skill system is the next layer of combat depth for Valley of Heroes.

🎯 Design Goals​

  • Hero identity: each of the 15 hero types receives a bespoke signature skill.
  • Counterplay: skills form a rock–paper–scissors matrix so squad composition matters.
  • Parallel progression: we plan to let players enhance or modify skills through upgrades and equipment.

  • Burst – front-load damage or finishing blows for assassins.
  • Control – stuns, slows, or displacement for tactical heroes.
  • Support – shields, healing pulses, or stat buffs for team play.
  • Utility – vision, debuff cleansing, or economy bonuses for niche picks.

  • PVP: the battle simulator reads skill loadouts to resolve damage, crowd control, and matchup bonuses. See PVP mode.
  • Equipment: gear may unlock alternate skill variants or boost skill multipliers.
  • Realm UI: players will configure skill loadouts directly from the hero management screen.

  • Status: in active development.
  • Target launch: alongside the public PVP release.
  • Next milestones: detailed specs and playtest schedule will be shared after design and audits are finalized.

  • Prototype servers with rotating hero pools.
  • Telemetry-driven balance passes every few days.
  • Open feedback channels so the community can help shape meta diversity.
